Why Liaoye exists
We saw four things happening at once.
The era changed
“Knowing how to use AI tools” is no longer scarce. What's scarce is finding real problems, judging what's worth doing, and turning ideas into useful things.
A crowded market
Most AI courses teach what expires fastest — one tool, a showable template, a certificate. Kids get trained into skilled operators of software.
Opportunity, not input
Kids don't lack knowledge input; they lack the chance to initiate creation: peers on the same wavelength, real feedback, lasting momentum.
A method mismatch
Creation is open problems and uncertain paths. Fixed syllabi, uniform homework and single deliverables simply can't teach it.
Not a training school

We are not an AI training institution
Liaoye runs on small teams, deep mentorship, and pulling in specialist resources per project — not mass enrollment and assembly-line teaching.
No more than 8 kids per group
Each online group has at most 8 students, so every child's ideas, project direction and real sticking points get continuous attention.
Mentored by people who ship real projects
Our operations and project team studied at universities like Peking, Sun Yat-sen, Fudan and UIBE — but we aren't traditional schoolteachers. We're people who've spent years building real projects on the front lines of AI, the internet, product and startups.
Core tech mentors from the Tencent MyApp founding team
Our mentors bring 20+ years of hands-on internet, product and commercialization experience, normally working with senior AI engineers and enterprise teams (LLMs, agents, AI app development, product architecture, real-world delivery). We translate that into project paths kids can actually understand and practice — not watered down into “tool demos.”
Not a kids' coding class
We don't teach “learn syntax → drill problems → build one uniform deliverable,” and we don't make every kid follow the same template. Coding is just one ability a project may call on. A full AI hackathon project also runs through: finding a real problem → judging user needs → designing a solution → choosing AI tools → building a prototype → testing feedback → presenting in Chinese and English → iterating.
Content evolves with AI — not a fixed syllabus
LLMs, agents, Vibe Coding, AI programming, workflows, video generation and smart hardware keep changing. Our principle: match the tool to what the project needs; update the training as the tech shifts; and teach kids not to memorize one piece of software, but to quickly understand and use ever-changing AI productivity.
Kids meet far more than a lecturer
They work with project leads and mentors (handling direction, progress and parent communication), core tech mentors from the Tencent MyApp team, on-demand mentors across product, industry, investment, hardware and overseas resources, peers who also love to think and build — plus real users, industry guests, technical judges and hackathon resources at home and abroad.
Online mentorship + offline collaboration + connected resources
We have offices and training spaces in Hangzhou and Shenzhen. Beyond online projects, we run offline workshops, hackathon challenges, project exchanges, pitch training and milestone showcases. Liaoye isn't a one-off online course — it's a youth AI hackathon creator community combining online mentorship, real offline collaboration and global resource connections.
What we want kids to walk away with isn't “one more language learned” or “one more classroom assignment,” but the ability to turn their existing interests and skills into projects that genuinely solve needs in study, life, work or society — and, step by step, to build problem awareness, judgment, AI project ability and lasting creativity.

We never package one result into a promise — competition outcomes are uncertain. But it proved one thing: kids really can take the stage.

As our charity partner, the Guangdong Guangren Tongxin Charity Foundation supports charity places that open the camp free of charge to eligible youth from families in difficulty, and oversees whether the programme stays true to its youth-growth purpose.
The China and overseas tours will reach more cities over time, bringing more young people into a real project arena — teaming up, finding problems, designing products, building with AI, showing Demos and pitching on stage, all within 48 hours.
With more support from society, we hope to build a bigger stage for young people — so that more children can observe the real world with AI, solve real problems, and truly build what they imagine.

Founders
Liaoye AI Hackathon Club was co-founded by three people with backgrounds in technology, investment, industry and international innovation — focused on youth AI project practice, hackathon training and global innovation skills.
We want kids to learn not just how to operate AI tools, but to go through a complete growth arc in a real project: spotting a problem, designing a solution, building an AI Demo, collaborating as a team, and pitching in English.
Cding
Tencent MyApp founding team | Fudan University, M.S. in CS
Cding holds a CS degree from Fudan University and has 20+ years on the front line of internet and tech, having served as VP at Tencent IoT and Tencent MyApp, with deep work in LLMs, AIGC, visual AI and product commercialization.
At Liaoye, Cding leads the technical system, judgment of AI project direction, and product-implementation guidance. Beyond teaching tools, he helps kids understand how technology shifts, judge a project's direction, and learn to choose, prioritize and push forward in complex projects.
For kids, this means exposure not to single-tool tutorials, but to the way of thinking behind real internet products and AI application development.
Angel
Sun Yat-sen University | finance, law & investment | early-stage tech investor
Angel graduated from Sun Yat-sen University with a combined finance, law and investment background, and has long invested in early-stage tech projects, focusing on AI, tech innovation, hardware and industry applications.
At Liaoye, Angel leads the overall program design, youth growth-path planning, competition selection, and judgment of a project's commercial value and feasibility.
Angel cares not only about what a child built, but whether they truly understand user needs, project value, application scenarios and how to articulate them. From an investor's and judge's view, she helps kids see whether an AI project genuinely has problem-awareness, originality and room for sustainable iteration.
Bella
International innovative consumer industry | China rep of a Nasdaq-listed company
Bella has experience in the international tech industry and innovative consumer sectors, having served as China representative for a Nasdaq-listed Israeli company; she is also a finance expert in Sichuan Development Holding's expert pool and a guest finance lecturer at He Jun Consulting.
At Liaoye, Bella brings an international industry perspective, hands-on experience landing innovative projects, and financial & business analysis — helping kids understand real-world tech application, market demand and project expression.
Her involvement pushes the Club's training beyond "making a good-looking Demo" toward deeper questions: who can this project serve? Is there a real scenario? Could it one day enter industries like healthcare, education, hardware, family or city life?

How is a hackathon different from a typical AI camp?+
A typical AI camp has a teacher demo tools while kids copy a template project. A hackathon puts kids in a real project arena — finding their own problems, teaming up on-site, building different AI Demos, pitching on stage, and taking questions from multi-perspective judges.
